5 Reasons Why You Don’t Need A Wedding Planner
Time
Planning a wedding is time-consuming and there’s a lot of effort that goes into the planning process and logistics. From venue sourcing, finding your dream suppliers, supplier communication, site visits and so much more. This isn’t even taking into account the dress fitting, food tasting, honeymoon planning and so forth. We would advise having a serious conversation with your fiancé if you have the time available, and if so, who will be leading what aspect of the planning?
One of the main reasons our wedding planning clients book us, 4R Luxury Events, is that they physically don’t have the time available. Our clients are busy with other commitments, work, family, and life and hiring the skills of a wedding planner is a priority in their wedding planning journey.
Experience
It might be that you work in Events Management and have experience planning large-scale events. This planning would include running orders, supplier management, ensuring suppliers arrive and set up on time, and the wedding day’s main timings. That said, on your wedding day, do you really have the time to be calling and checking in on suppliers? Wedding day emergencies on occasion do happen and things can go wrong. We have experience in handling problems and creating a backup plan so that your wedding runs smoothly. In fact, most the time our clients don’t even know about any emergencies and on-the-day issues.
Wedding Planning Training & Education
Perhaps you already have experience in the wedding industry and know and understand how a wedding day runs so that you feel happy and confident to plan your own wedding. Remember Wedding Planners are the best organisers and will help plan every last detail. If you are planning your own wedding we would recommend discussing the wedding day timings with your venue and catering team and then sorting all wedding day times backwards. Always allocate slightly longer to get ready and in your bridal dress, any extra time is a blessing and will allow for more photo opportunities with your wedding photographer and videographer.
Resources & Network
One of the most time-consuming tasks of wedding planning is finding your dream team, aka your wedding suppliers! It goes without saying that experienced and professional wedding planners know the best suppliers in the industry. Not only are these suppliers good, but they are also reliable, trustworthy and experienced. One top piece of advice would be to review the preferred suppliers at your wedding venue, and check out any websites, social media accounts and Google Reviews to get a good look and feel of this supplier.
Wedding Day Management
No bride wants to be liaising with suppliers, answering guest questions and chasing the wedding venue for updates. This is a special time and one of the best days of your life! So enjoy every moment. If you don’t have a wedding planner, we would recommend having a key contact from your bridal party as a point of call. Ideally, this person will be organised, a quick thinker and able to make any decisions on your behalf. Many wedding planners offer an on-the-day wedding management service to ensure your wedding day goes as smoothly as possible. This service is also known as a wedding on-the-day coordinator.
